2012, the most talked about year in modern history is upon us. A lot of the speculation and many predictions that abound have their roots in an interpretation of the Mayan calendar which suggests that the Sun is completing a cosmic cycle and beginning a new one.
Looking astrologically at the 21st December 2012 (a popular date in predictions), I found there is a rare alignment of Jupiter in Gemini, Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn which forms a yod, or finger of fate in the heavens.

Jupiter entered your sign on 4th June 2011 and it will be with you until 11th June 2012. This is a period of positive growth for you that occurs roughly every 12 years. The encouragement and opportunities on offer from Jupiter need to be seized by you; life won’t happen all by itself. If you are willing to put in the time and effort you should find it very easy to profit from Jupiter’s influence. From 11th June Jupiter enters Gemini and this will add a very different flavour to life. This change in the influence of Jupiter is likely to be felt in the area of finances and the use of your talents. If under the presence of Jupiter in Taurus you have been busy building on your business now is the time to let others know what you have to offer. Gemini is good for all forms of communication and learning so these areas can really benefit you now.
The period when Jupiter is retrograde from 4th October – 30th January 2013 will be useful if you want to reactivate a past interest or project that you may not have had time for. It will also help you if you have to adjust your plans.
Saturn
Saturn occupies Libra and will do so until October of this year. This Saturn influence began in the autumn of 2009 and it relates to the area of work. In the autumn when Saturn moves into Scorpio the area of relationships will become the focus of its attention. At present co-operating with others could bring challenges but in the long term it will prove beneficial. If your job involves counselling or advising people, this is a time when you can establish yourself and become a master of your trade. Saturn may also be having an influence on your health. If you have any problems in this area it would be better to sort them out now rather than ignore them.
From the 7th February – 25th June 2012 Saturn will be in retrograde motion. This affords you the opportunity to reconsider how things are working out for you and make any adjustments you may feel are necessary. One of the qualities of Libra is that of balance and although the emphasis may be on work, you should remember to play as well, both of which should be easy for you as a Taurus. Using time efficiently will allow you to get the breaks you need and it will prevent the waste of time and energy.
When Saturn enters Scorpio on the 5th October you begin a period of lessons where relationships are concerned. This period of education will complete in September 2015. Over the coming years you will be reviewing your existing commitments and establishing stronger and more supportive relationships. New relationships that develop during this time could prove enduring. As Saturn travels through Scorpio you may be required to assess your needs where others are concerned. Taureans are often ‘useful’ to others, but don’t like being taken for granted. Hopefully Saturn’s supportive influence will help you to feel the appreciation of others and contentment in yourself.
